Jinja - what a place! This past week we have been visiting Chikondo and Bavuma Island. We are with a team from Lima, Columbus and Findlay, Ohio. Sessions have been shared, home visits made and fellowship has flourished. Lake Victoria is beautiful, but under the layers of golden sunsets, picturesque sailboats and an abundance of lake birds is the ugliness of poverty, water borne and various diseases. Despite - yes, despite this - there is joy in daily routine and camaraderie in the fishing culture.
Capture the moment - God is waiting for our hearts and minds to be challenged. Take the first step - you won't regret it.
We leave feeling embraced, saddened and better for having been.
