In 1983, Stan and Marion Hoffman left their pastorate in western Canada to go to Uganda. A letter of request had been sent by one congregation (only 2 were in some form of existence) to welcome them to come and be missionaries there.
The times were not good. There was a lot of internal political strife and rebel movement going on. Many roadblocks, ambushes and hi-jackings were common place and it was a risk to be in Uganda in those days.
They went and served for 2 years and asked us to join in to assist with building a school and to start up sponsorship with the German Church of God social arm called Kinderhilfswerk.
The Church of God in Uganda celebrates 30 years. Witnessing God's hand of protection through many challenging times and many good times has inspired many to come to Christ and the churches has spread into every region. Today over 500 churches of God exist, 6 clinics, 170
Schools, programs to assist the vulnerable and sponsorship programs - all give evidence to God's glory.
We celebrate to thank God for what He has done in many people's lives and hearts. He is faithful!
