UGANDA MAKES WORLD NEWS

After the longest school lockdown, Ugandan schools have been allowed to open in a staggered fashion. Families were so excited this morning to get their children back into a school routine. Our Church of God schools have opened their doors and now we wait in anticipation to see how many children will return. Please pray for our Institutional Heads, our teachers and the students who tentatively begin steps towards their educational future. Read more about this on the article below: SCHOOL IS BACK!

Schools are near and dear to our hearts. For a brief history of the Schools founded since the Stevenson's started their ministry in Uganda....

In 1987, the first school building was built at Kasubi Church of God Headquarters, in Kampala, Uganda. This was for a nursery school, which eventually turned into a nursery and primary school, and now this same school has developed into a Ordinary level high school, along with the advanced level, giving it a full nursery to high school offer of education. Schools start from Nursery level -- baby class (3 years old) going to top class (5 years old). This solid educational foundation is influential for the early childhood development stage which builds into the primary level of education. This is primary one to primary seven. During the primary seven year, the children are preparing for their primary leaving examinations which when passed, allows them to continue into the high school level of education.

This one school has now mushroomed into 200 schools around Uganda, and we are now educating 25,000+ children in both rural and urban areas of over 25 districts, and in every region across Uganda. The quality of school varies from being under a tree to a permanent style building block. From one person being the main Director of Schools, we now have a full Education Secretariat Department. The success of this program has been the longevity of staff, and consistent monitoring and guidance.

From our one school in 1987, we have grown. Though we have many schools who are still in dire need of assistance, we have 8 schools that will be highlighted below. This is to demonstrate that hard work, persistence, and solid partnerships can make a big difference.
